From the first time we met Caroline and Hunter, we knew their wedding was going to be so much fun – they’re such a lovely couple who both have a great sense of humour.
On this bright, warm spring day we started by capturing Caroline getting ready at her parents’ house along with her maids and close friends; and Hunter having lunch with his ushers.
The wedding service took place in the awe-inspiring St Giles’ Cathedral on the Royal Mile (seven days after Olympic gold medalist Chris Hoy got married in the same place!) where a huge crowd of on-lookers had gathered to watch the bride and her father arrive – they weren’t disappointed; Caroline looked stunning as she stepped out in her Stewart Parvin wedding dress and cathedral-length veil.
After the couple had said “I do” they emerged into the glorious sunlight to find that the group of onlookers had got even bigger! Rickshaws were on hand to take the guests down to New Club, where they were treated to champagne, canapes and a 180 degree panorama of what must be the absolute finest view of Edinburgh.
On the way there, we stopped by Princes Street Gardens for some photographs of the newlyweds with Edinburgh Castle and blossoming magnolias as a backdrop.
After the reception, dinner and speeches (including a side-splittingly funny groom’s speech) the couple had a final surprise up their sleeve: a First Dance routine which had the room roaring with laughter and a huge round of applause for the new Mr & Mrs Booth.
We’d like to wish Caroline and Hunter a long and happy marriage and look forward to showing them all the photos when they are back from honeymoon!
