On a sunny, sweltering Saturday in May, we were off to photograph the wedding of a beautiful, tall and very lovely couple in one of Edinburgh’s best wedding venues.
In the morning, it was a full house Fiona’s parents’ residence, where the bride along with her parents, sister, maids, niece and nephews were filling the rooms with laughter and fun whilst getting ready for the big day. Meanwhile Alistair and his ushers (including his very beautiful “usherette” sister Geraldine) prepared for the day at Prestonfield house, before heading to Cramond Kirk.
The service was so lovely – full of smiles and laughter (and a lovely rendition of Fifi’s wedding!). As the couple and guests exited the church, they were once again met by the unusually hot weather and a cloudless sky, making the celebrations that extra bit special. As we arrived at Prestonfield House, guests enjoyed champagne and canapes on the lawn while we went off to take a few photos of the newlyweds in the house and grounds.
After the reception, the guests watched as Fiona and Alistair cut their wedding cake in the shade of the trees, and were then invited in for dinner and speeches.
The evening was kicked off with a beautiful first dance before the dance floor quickly filled up for the first reel.

All day Fiona and Alistair were so wonderful to be with and great to photograph – they seem truly happy together and we wish them a long and happy marriage full of warmth and sunshine.
