We had really been looking forward to our first wedding of 2011, for many reasons. The main one being that the bride and groom are such an awesome couple and getting to know them has been so much fun. Other reasons to love this wedding: St Giles Cathedral (stunning!), Mansfield Traquair (ditto!), a brilliantly choreographed first dance (yay!) and the groom getting on stage to play a song for his new wife (how lovely is that?).
We also enjoyed seeing the very nice Steve and Stuart from Cherry Tree Films (check out their amazing films here)

Jennifer and Christopher are having a busy month as they are moving the Oz two weeks after their big day, so as well as a celebration of their love and relationship, their wedding was also a huge leaving do. Having only known them a short while, we can still see why they will be sorely missed by family and friends – they are so much fun to be around and a genuinely nice couple of folk.

Here’s a little preview of the day – enjoy!

I started my day with Jennifer, as she was getting ready along with her family and her friend Lisa.

Jen’s dad making a final few adjustments to his speech

We loved Jen’s Stewart Parvin dress from Rachel Scott Couture

Meanwhile, Chris was with the boys at Hotel du Vin

A rainy, windy walk to St Giles later…

Best Man Philip – a true Scotsman…

Jen arrives in the lashing rain.

We love St Giles’ Gothic style and the lightened interior – a truly magnificent backdrop for a grand occasion like this.

After the service we had time to do a few photos of the couple in the cathedral.

The wedding reception was held in one of Edinburgh’s most impressive venues, Mansfield Traquair

The beautiful table decorations were by Planet Flowers

Jen and Chris had opted for a “cheese cake” rather than a traditional cake

The first dance was a real treat! Jen and Chris surprised everyone with a perfectly choreographed, fun dance routine to Paolo Nutini’s “Pencil Full of Lead”

Later, Chris got up on stage along with Callanish to play a song for his new wife.

Jen and Chris, we had such an amazing day and night! Thanks for starting our wedding year with a bang!
We hope your life together in Australia will be a happy one full of laughter, sun and music.

We hope you’ve enjoyed this little preview of the day and can’t wait to show you the full set soon!
