Michael and Kieran’s July wedding at the Signet Library was everything we love about photographing weddings – warm, emotional, relaxed, and full of people who were completely there for them.
These two are just the loveliest, most down-to-earth guys. After spending time together at their pre-wedding shoot, arriving on the day felt like turning up to celebrate friends. Their couple photos were easy, natural and full of real connection – nothing forced, just the two of them being themselves.
The ceremony took place in the Lower Library, which never fails to bring the drama. Between the incredible architecture, the soft light and the emotion in the room, there were plenty of tears alongside the laughter. You could feel how much love and support surrounded them.
Both Michael and Kieran wore full kilt outfits from Gordon Nicolson, and they looked amazing – classic, elegant and absolutely perfect for the setting.
After dinner, the Scottish weather gave us a gift. The sun slipped out from behind the clouds, so we nipped outside for a wander onto the Royal Mile and captured some beautiful evening portraits in the heart of Edinburgh. Quiet moments, big smiles, historic streets – magic.

We can’t recommend First Light Photography highly enough! Ditte and Chris photographed our wedding in July 2025 and they couldn’t have made the process any smoother.
