A French-Irish wedding, set in the glorious Signet Library in the centre of Edinburgh – what’s not to love?
This is such a special wedding, and I’m thrilled to share it with you.
From the very first time I met Caroline and Tony, I was smitten, and was so happy when they booked us. A French-Irish wedding, with friends and family flying in from near and far to celebrate with Caroline and Tony.
Add to that a brilliant line-up of wedding suppliers, including the magic touch of the
Planet Flowers team and the tone was set for a perfect wedding.
And perfect it was. Through the pre-wedding nerves and jitters, it was lovely to witness the moment Caroline’s father saw her for the first time that day, made-up and dressed ready for her wedding. (I wasn’t the only one crying…)
The humanist ceremony was beautiful. The bridal party were piped up the aisle in the Signet Library Lower Library, Caroline’s brother summarised the proceedings in French for the non-English speaking relatives, Tony’s sister played the violin while the couple signed the register, the couple kissed and everyone cried, cheered and clapped.
As for the drinks reception, photo session, dinner, speeches and dancing? Yup, pretty perfect too. Tears, laughing, hugging and a valiant attempt at ceilidh-ing from a predominantly non-Scottish crowd.
I was so touched by this email Caroline sent us after seeing the preview (I genuinely think I have the best job in the world!):
“Thank you for sending us this preview of the photos, they look amazing, we love them, you have done such a fantastic job!! They really tell the story of the day and portray the emotions felt.
We have shared the preview link with our parents, and they are so pleased. They are all so thrilled with the photos, which capture the day so well. My mom even shed a tear watching the photos! It is incredible how you manage to capture so well all the essential and emotional moments.”
Caroline and Tony, we can’t thank you enough for trusting us to capture your wedding the way you wanted it – we have so loved getting to know you and spending time with you and your families!
We look forward to sharing the full set of photographs with you soon!
Gros bisous,
Ditte, Chris and Stuart
