I had the great pleasure of photographing The Scottish King of Swing, Paul Ellis, over the holidays.We wanted to go for an old-fashioned music club feel, black stage with directional light, and had lots of fun creating the look and feel in the studio (HUGE thanks to Niels and Alie from Blue Sky for emerging from their holiday cocoon to let us use the studio space!)
The highlight of the shoot was definitely when I asked Paul to sing some Sinatra for me, while I snapped away – boy, can he sing! It is no wonder he counts Shirley Bassey, Buddy Greco and Cilla Black among his fans.
